Soprano, Rebecca H,, is a two-time ‘Best Opera Album’ Grammy Award Winner for her participation in The Metropolitan Opera’s productions of Porgy & Bess (2020, Gershwin) and Fire Shut Up in My Bones (2022, Blanchard). She was also featured in their production of Die Meistersinger (2021, Wagner).
She most recently starred in three one-act plays as part of The Fire This Time Festival, the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Player’s productions of Trial by Jury as Angelina and The Mikado as Yum-Yum. She also appeared at the 2024 Colour of Music Festival performing Joseph C. Phillips’s The Grey Land a mono-opera, and in a solo recital entitled Music of The Harlem Renaissance. Other notable productions include The Garden of the Finzi-Contini (New York City Opera), Evita and Cabin in the Sky (New York City Center), Aquanetta (Bard Summerscape), Our Town (Baltimore Center Stage), B.R.O.K.E.N Code B.I.R.D Switching (Berkshire Theater Group), and In the Parlour (National Black Theater).
Her TV/Film credits include Law & Order (NBC), FBI: Most Wanted (CBS), Dear Edward (Apple+), For Life (ABC), and The Wilson View (Pilot). Along with her creative partner, Kedren Spencer, Rebecca is the co-creator and founder of KSRH Productions LLC. Their first short film, Last Call had its world premiere at the New Faces, New Voices Film Festival where it won the ‘Audience Choice’ Award. Then, it won ‘Audience Choice,’ ‘Best Actress,’ and ‘Best Original Score’ at The Artists Forum Festival of The Moving Image. Rebecca is the 2025 Artists Forum: Artist of the Year.
Driven by her love of music-making, Rebecca looks forward to teaching Soyulla students healthy breath and vocal techniques, tools for performance success, and helping develop their sense of musical artistry, all while maintaining their joy and passion for singing!
