Zijing Zeng has extensive experience as both performer and piano teacher. She holds a Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance with Steinway Artist Dr. Joanne Polk from the Manhattan School of Music.
Prior to her piano studies in New York, Zijing received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance with Dr. Kathryn Brown, from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She has performed at Steinway Hall New York, Hong Kong City Hall, as well as Kulas and Mixon Halls of in Cleveland. Zijing has also made regular appearances at major music festivals including Bowdoin International Music Festival, Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts “Invitation to Music” Summer Festival, and “Pianists in the Mountains” in the Catskill Mountains of New York.
Zijing has actively engaged in piano pedagogy since 2018 as a proponent of holistic music education. She believes students should not only focus on keyboard proficiency, but also gain an understanding of the artistic and historical importance of music as a cultural artifact.
In piano lessons, Zijing creates a supportive environment where students are engaged and motivated. This allows students to be inspired to develop a keen ear, boundless musical energy, and a generous spirit.
