Brooklyn-based guitarist Martin C. has been teaching and performing in the NYC area for almost 10 years. He attended the Conservatory of Music at SUNY Purchase for Classical Guitar Performance and studied under João Luiz Rezende of the Brasil Guitar Duo. Martin has performed in Opera Productions and Chamber Ensembles at the Performance Arts Center at Purchase and the Neuberger Museum of Art.

 

Growing up in both Argentina and the United States, Martin has a diverse musical background. He grew up listening and playing tango and Argentina Folk music, and eventually started playing American Folk music and fingerstyle playing, drawing inspirations from musicians like Astor Piazzolla, Elliott Smith, Carlos Gardel, and Simon and Garfunkel. Now, he is an accomplished guitarist fluent in many styles, including classical, rock, and pop.

 

Martin is enthusiastic about teaching guitar and sharing his musical knowledge with his students. He believes that playing guitar can connect students to the rest of the world through different styles of playing. His patient and warm teaching style creates a comfortable learning environment for his students, and his focus on providing a strong foundation in music and guitar playing provides his students with the ability to play with ease and expression.
