ABOUT US

OUR STORY

Founded by opera singer and pianist, Jae M. Shin, Soyulla Artists has been bringing first-rate music education directly to students’ homes since 2001. Our approach is built on the fundamental principle that everyone deserves to have the joy of music in their lives and that high quality music education can be taught in a fun, accessible and nurturing way. We teach all instruments and musical genres to students of all ages and skill levels. Our instructors are comprised of world-class teaching artists who are meticulously selected for their exceptional training background, extensive teaching experience, and internationally-renowned performing accolades. The teaching artists in our roster have been trained at top conservatories that include Juilliard, Eastman, the Manhattan School of Music, and the New England Conservatory. They regularly perform at major concert halls, Broadway stages and frequently appear on late nite TV. They perform and tour with world’s leading orchestras and record globally with artists like Itzhak Perlman, Josh Groban, Blondie, Elton John and many more. In addition to teaching private lessons, we also provide top level musicians for any special occasion through our Stars! division and after school music curriculum through our school outreach program, centerSTAGE. At Soyulla, our motto is "We bring the arts to you!". From private lessons, to specially designed after school music programs, and high caliber musicians who will create the perfect ambiance at your next special occasion, we are here to offer New York’s finest artists to fit all your musical needs.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our core philosophy is built on the idea that one teaching method does not fit all. We believe that every student needs a personal connection with their teacher in order to have fun, thrive personally and creatively, and get the most out of the learning process. Our teachers have extensive teaching experience working with kids as young as three years old, beginning adults and aspiring professionals. Our artists have experience working with students with autism, attention deficit disorder, and other learning disabilities. Our goal is to work directly with you in order to personally match you with the best possible teacher from our diverse roster. Our instructors then create a tailor-made curriculum that will fit each student’s individual needs, learning style, personality, and artistic goals. With over 15 years of experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels, we have an over 99% matching success rate, inspiring students to learn and cultivate lifelong music appreciation.

MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER

"Having had a strict musical background from a young age through my conservatory training at Juilliard, I founded Soyulla Artists in 2001 with the intention of helping students have fun and learn to love the performing arts. While teaching voice and piano as a Gluck Scholar, I saw how important it is -- especially for young children -- to bring joy and a positive atmosphere into music lessons. The benefits of joyful learning can play a fundamental role in embracing music as an enriching, fulfilling and fun component in a child’s life. In addition, it has tremendous benefits that include increased creativity, sociability, and confidence. I began to select other like-minded emerging artists to join Soyulla: All of them vibrant and exceptionally talented performers whose active careers take them to prestigious venues around the globe and enable them to bring passion, engaged instructional style and a current knowledge of the professional music world to their teaching. In addition to private lessons, our school outreach program Center Stage brings music education to classrooms where it is sorely needed during children's crucial formative years. Our performance branch, Stars, brings world-class artists directly to our clients for any special occasion or event, because a love for music very often starts by hearing world-class performers and being inspired by them. Today, all three of Soyulla's branches work cooperatively to bring top-notch music to students, schools, events, parties, weddings, and other audiences in New York City and beyond.” ~Jae M. Shin
