Eric is an active artist found all over North America with acts like Kaleta and Super Yamba Band (Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade) and Robert Finley (America’s Got Talent, Easy Eye Sound), as well as locally with SYBQ, Marked For Death, Kudzu Quartet, The Yards, ESSBJO, and several others. He works as a guitarist, bassist, producer, engineer, mixer, composer, and arranger. You might even find his visual art hanging in a gallery near you!

 

As a part of sharing his enthusiasm for music Eric enjoys working with developing musicians. His teaching approach strives to nurture the seeds of the creative musician while illuminating the rewards of methodically working towards goals. He believes each student is unique, has different goals and needs, and his lesson plans are tailored to be most beneficial to each student.

 

Eric began his career in Arizona where he participated in the All-State Jazz Band, Sedona Jazz on the Rocks Youth Band and received the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award. He received a Master of Music degree in Jazz Composition and Arranging as well as a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from the prestigious Jazz Studies program at William Paterson University in New Jersey after studying with Jim McNeely, Cecil Bridgewater, Rich DeRosa, James Weidman, Gene Bertoncini and Paul Meyers. Eric believes that learning is a never-ending process and continually seeks out masters to further his own studies.
