Even M.

Cello

​

Even M. is a passionate performer, artist and educator. She has been heard in concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Cincinnati Concert Hall, China’s National Centre for the Performing Arts and Castello Brancaleoni in Italy. She has been the cello principal for multiple orchestras, and has received the top prize in competitions that include the Golden Classical Music Awards’ International Competition, and the “iTalkBBTV” instrumental competition (at which she was also named Grand Prize Virtuoso).

 

Born in China, Even made her solo performance debut at the age of 14 performing the Haydn C Major Cello Concerto; she has been the featured soloist in multiple performances since then. Even received her bachelor and master’s degrees at the Cleveland Institute of Music as a student of Cleveland Orchestra Principal Cellist Mark Kosower. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in cello performance at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music where she studied with Professor Alan Rafferty.

 

She has been a recipient of fellowships to the Round Top Festival Institute, Chautauqua Music Festival, Brevard Music Festival, and Colorado College Summer Music Festival.

 

Even is an avid educator who is totally committed to teaching. She is a fully trained Suzuki cello teacher and Dalcroze Eurythmics instructor, having completed her training at the Cleveland Institute of Music’s Suzuki Pedagogy Program. She cites Suzuki as an influence; he said that talent can be educated, and every person has the ability to learn. As a teacher, she shows her love, support, and patience while teaching students. She gives her students clear goals after communicating with them. Everyone’s goal is different, and her goal is to assist her students to become everything they have dreamed of.
