Genres: Classical, contemporary, improv

Teaches in English

Iva is known for her virtuosity and interdisciplinary versatility, from classical to boundary-stretching works involving choreography, singing, acting, and improvisation.

Iva has collaborated with legendary composer Joan La Barbara on a solo work commissioned by Bang on a Can and performed at their Long Play Festival, Noguchi Museum series, and virtual marathon. She has also worked with composers Christopher Stark,Wang Lu, Erika Dohi, and Mak Murtić. She has toured with Bang on a Can All-Stars, Sasha Waltz & Guests, Ensemble Illyrica, and Synesthetic Project in Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, and the Czech Republic. Illyrica, which Iva co- founded in Croatia, recently released their debut classical album to critical acclaim. She has also performed across North America with contemporary music ensembles Unheard-of and PinkNoise.

As an educator, Iva believes in teaching students how to play with a strong technical foundation, how to avoid injury, and how to practice at home. Most importantly, she helps them approach music with joy and curiosity. Students are welcome to communicate if they have any particular interests in other musical styles, or pieces, and Iva will incorporate their interests into their lessons at the correct technical level.

Iva has taught undergraduate students at Vassar College and Stony Brook University, and currently teaches at Musart Music in Syosset. She also serves as faculty at Unheard-of//Ensemble's annual composition workshop in San Antonio and has given guest lectures, masterclasses, and workshops at Columbia University, New York University, Oberlin Conservatory, New England Conservatory Preparatory, Brooklyn College, UC Davis, University of Texas-San Antonio, Emory, the Simons Center, and Bowling Greene University.
