Teaches in English
Lauren is an actor and musician based in New York City with a deep passion for both performance and education. She grew up studying violin, flute, and voice and caught the acting bug at an early age. Always searching for a way to combine all her talents, she soon became part of the vibrant NYC actor-musician community, where she found a creative home that celebrates the intersection of music and storytelling.
As a performer, Lauren has appeared on Broadway stages, cruise ships, and in regional theaters across the U.S. Her performance career has included playing alongside the legendary maestro Itzhak Perlman and even singing for Steven Spielberg. She performed as the titular role of Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish, a critically acclaimed production that developed a devoted following and won the Drama Desk Award for Best Musical Revival. Lauren also tours internationally with Americana Women, a dynamic country music show where she sings and plays fiddle, mandolin, and (most importantly) foot tambourine! She regularly performs in new musicals that feature actor-musicians where she'll often play three or more instruments—and she’s always eager to learn more.
For the past 15 years, Lauren has specialized in teaching young learners. Her passion for teaching brought her to Ankara, Turkey where she taught elementary students ESL. She also has worked with PopsEd (the education program of the NY Pops), where she has worked as a music director for musicals at high schools. Her teaching style is nurturing, flexible, and tailored to each student’s unique needs and musical tastes.
Lauren infuses every lesson with her own love of learning, hoping to spark that same joy and curiosity in her students. Whether working on classical repertoire or a favorite pop song, her goal is to inspire confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music in every student she teaches.
