Matthew’s teaching philosophy centers on building a comprehensive technical foundation of tone production, breath control, articulation, flexibility and musicianship. He insures that students can confidently communicate a compelling musical message. He believes that fundamentals are not an end in themselves but the gateway to expressive freedom. Whether working with beginners or advanced players, he fosters discipline, curiosity and stylistic awareness in a supportive, professional environment. His goal is to develop not only skilled instrumentalists but thoughtful, versatile musicians prepared to thrive in any musical setting.
