Mira G.

Piano

Genres: Classical

Teaches in English

A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mira G. is of East-Indian descent. She graduated from The Juilliard School with a B.M. and M.M., where she had the privilege of completing her Bachelor’s degree as one of three students of the late John Browning. She also studied at the Gnessin Institute in Moscow, Russia. She has been a featured soloist with orchestras across the country, including the Utah Symphony, the Oberlin Conservatory Chamber Orchestra and the Fort Collins Symphony.

While at Juilliard, Mira won the Artist’s International Young Artist Piano Award and made her New York debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. She was awarded two teaching fellowships at Juilliard during her Master's studies.

Mira has given recitals by special invitation for the Consul General of India and for the Crown Prince and Princess of Luxembourg. She gives regular concerts in the New York City area, with performances at Alice Tully Hall, Steinway Hall and Tenri Cultural Institute. Internationally, she has performed at venues that include the Weiner Saal and the Herzlich Willkommen Konzertsaal in Austria. Her playing has been described as “spectacular, poetic and so inspiring.”

Mira adapts her lessons to each individual’s strengths and challenges as they master note reading and rhythmic understanding. She finds out what will help a student shine, whether they perform on stage, for family and friends or just for solo enjoyment. Whether it’s performing duets, or encouraging them to have a say in repertoire, Mira meets students at their skill level and helps them to meet their goals.
