Tate C. is a professional opera, Broadway and pop performer, as well as a voice and piano instructor. Originally from San Diego, California, Tate received her Bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from California State University Fullerton, where she was educated by performers and directors such as Deborah Voigt, Frederica von Stade, and Tito Capobianco. She recently completed her master’s degree and Professional Studies Certificate in Voice at Manhattan School of Music.

Tate has performed in musicals such as “Phantom of the Opera” (Carlotta), “Grease” (Rizzo), and “Once on This Island” (Mama Euralie). She has also sung operatic soprano roles, from Puccini’s “Suor Angelica” and Dvorak’s “Rusalka” to her upcoming performance as Nedda in “Il Pagliacci” with Opera New York.

She has sung alongside artists such as Andrea Bocelli at the Hollywood Bowl, Kathleen Battle, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and has recorded with labels that include SONY Classical Records. She has also stage directed multiple productions as founder of her company The CoOperative.

When paired with her extensive dance and acting background, Tate’s students benefit from a well-rounded and thorough knowledge of performance as well as music theory and aural skills. Tate has taught all styles of music to students of all ages and a wide range of skill levels, from a student’s very first voice lesson to singers with more than a decade of performance experience. She has coached musicians in country music, pop, rock, R&B, jazz, musical theater, classical voice, opera and folk.

Tate believes that music has the power to bring self-confidence, hope, and inspiration to people in all walks of life, and could not be more thrilled to help students uncover the power of their own musicianship.
